Target Audience: Analysts, records and sworn law enforcement personnel responsible for reviewing, reporting or analyzing NIBRS information.
Description:
This course is designed for personnel seeking an understanding of how to utilize the NIBRS data to create reports to better understand crime and victimization in their jurisdictions and identify data quality issues. Students will review key NIBRS concepts (jurisdiction/time and place/definition of an incident) and data elements and gain an understanding of counting offenses and clearances, data utilization, and data quality through a variety of lectures and hands-on exercises.
